In search of the perfect Croissant

If food were art, a croissant would undoubtedly be Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece. Few delights in life compare to the joy of savoring a perfectly crafted croissant.

The flaky crust, tender interior, and rich buttery taste make it an irresistible treat any time of day. Unfortunately, many attempt to pass off subpar bread as croissants. The key is freshness; yet, in my area, bakeries often serve croissants 8-10 hours old or even the next day—an absolute travesty. I firmly believe it should be forbidden by law to sell croissants made over six hours ago.

After numerous disappointing trials in my city, I discovered Edith's Baking. I stumbled upon their Instagram and saw posts featuring their breads—sourdough, cinnamon rolls, and of course, croissants.

I messaged them to inquire about their fresh croissant availability. They replied they bake them only on Saturdays and Sundays at 1 p.m., which was promising since they didn't claim all-day availability. So, I eagerly awaited Saturday afternoon, opened the Swiggy app, and ordered a couple of croissants. Delightfully, they were eggless—a rare find. While not vegan, I am vegetarian and do not eat eggs.

I placed my order and waited. In about an hour, the croissants arrived. With anticipation, I opened the box and found promise within. I picked one up and took a bite—instant bliss. The exterior was crisp and flaky; the inside soft. You could sense the freshness.

I added a little orange marmalade to the next bite—it was divine. Each bite was savored with gratitude for this newfound gem.

So for fellow croissant aficionados in Hyderabad, Edith's Baking is your destination for fresh, crisp yet soft croissants—but only on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Next time you're craving a croissant, you know where to turn.
